Michelle Jonas

Before Michelle Jonas made clothes, she studied them — as an editor at Vogue and a designer at Ralph Lauren. Then she walked away from all of it to make something more personal: clothing designed around the way women actually live. Since 2005, she has been hand-dyeing and hand-painting silk and cotton in her Los Angeles studio, producing pieces that are as beautiful coming out of a suitcase as they are walking into a room.

The silhouettes are fluid, feminine, and completely unbothered. The fabrics move the way good clothing should. Every piece is machine-washable, wrinkle-resistant, and made to last — not because those are selling points, but because Jonas believes clothes shouldn't complicate your life. They should disappear into it and make it better.
